On 1600x900 with 80cols, this is a problem already (I need to scroll for a 
diff). Using less than 80cols makes it pointless to read.

Anyway, you can help yourself with a little user stylesheet:
.sideBySideScreenSideBySideTable {
    tab-size: 4;
}

I use Stylish in Chrome for this.
