In the last 7 days we had an average number of 3 slow queries per hour
during business hours in europe; actual numbers where between 0 and 8.
Today between 15:00 and 16:00 german time we have 200 slow queries,
most of them in the mailing list archives. I got complaints from users
in our company that typo3.org "feels slow" this afternoon.
This suggests to me that the mailing list archives are a significant
factor for bad performance of typo3.org.

I think this temporary fix is not really helpful. If we want to have the
mailinglist archives served from typo3.org software for a while, I suggest
to move that part of the functionality to a different server if that is
at all possible.
