Hi,

the approach is good and it's doing what it's supposed to, but the 
naming is imho very confusing...

(!$this->currentElementBelongsToCurrentPage && 
$this->modTSconfig['properties']['enableEditIconForLocalElements'])

Reads like "if it's not local and local editing is enabled" ...

Is my assumption right or did I miss any point?
