Berhard,
Unfortunately, it seems you have misunderstood me from the get-go.

Please see below.

I'd rather not repost my message, but all I said was it would be a good
feature. I also said I would be interested in working on it myself. I
asked what it wold take to implement. I clearly was willing to put in
some work on it. You volunteered your extension.

I meant exactly the opposite. I don't even know how you could reach the
conclusion you've reached. The extension is yours, if you give it away
to someone halfway around the world who you don't know, you've lost
"control" of it. Demanding someone's code is ridiculous, and that's not
what I did.

Moreover, I did not take a quote from my email offlist, quote it,
misinterpret it and blow it out of proportion, and essentially slander
the author.

No point in responding to this, since I think everyone agrees with you.

I understand your anger, but it's misdirected in this case. I write GPL
code too and I know the difficulties of being a freelancer. I thought I
was pretty clear in my email to you that it makes sense to not allow
try-before-you-buy given the GPL, so I'm a little surprised to be the
target of your venom.

best,
Lucas
