Using the standard page module the 'Quick Edit' mode does almost exactly
that.
You must first however define where to put the page (after existing or
for a sub-page) and the page title.
Note that it is good to select, where to put the new page because if CMS
puts new page automatic after existing or as sub-page, you often need
*afterward* move it into correct place. that is annoying.
Page title is different than title for contents because titles for
contents can be several but just one page title.
For the same reason 'Page properties' and content properties are
different records.
After you have defined the place and page title you can enter content.
If you already has a page it opens the first content element in the page
and if there is not any, it offers as default 'Text' and you can
immediately create text.
That is ok if you don't have much content areas in the same page,
but it is not best if you have many content areas and much individual
content elements in a page. It fits best for simple pages, which
have one or few content elements and just one content area.
Because in our project there is commonly several content areas,
using 'Quick Edit' mode is not commonly the best practise.
BTW. The alternative page module doesn't offer this.
