Hi Elmar, hi joerg, Hi list,
We've been using the jquery library. to be honest i wasn't very familiar
with the ext library, but I have no problem - it looks good. I'm really
looking forward to having some kind of js framework and an apropriate
api. there was a previous thread which discussed the merits of various
frameworks etc. and concluded that the user should have the option to
choose. as far as i'm concerned, I couldn't care less whether it's
jquery, extjs or scriptaculous or moo. I woud like to see an api which
can be used in combination with the upcoming extension development
framework (that woul be COOL i guess). so as far as I'm concerned I'll
be happy to check out your work and i don't think you should focus too
much on the flavour of the week - whatever works for you is OK, it's
more important for me to have a set of connectors for the framework. For
example, an api for a forms library (any progress there?) would be
really nice. Exactly which library you'd use for that; I don't care. I
believe that if you were to choose a particular framework (let's say you
go with extjs) then doubtless someone will come along and say 'well i
like that, but I'd prefer to see it done with moo' so afaik it's pretty
irrelevant, so long as someone is prepared to take the lead here and run
with it. More important to me is he actual api that i can use for
development. my point is: why rewrite three libraries (extjs,
jquery and script.aculo.us)? choose the library you deem most
appropriate and we'll play catch up...
Cheers,
Simon
