Dear enthusiasts of the Party Information Framework,

It's decision time! After the kick-off in Dietikon, not much has been
going on with the Party Information Framework. This was mostly due to
the decision we made at the Developer Days to wait for the possible
cooperation with the commercial project as presented by Robert. After
all, it seems as though this will not come true anytime soon.

So I propose to make an active decision on how to go on. Please cast
your vote:

A) Keep on waiting
I have not yet received a definite answer from Robert on whether or not
the commercial project might still come true in 2007. So we might decide
to keep on waiting.

B) Start with 4.1 on our own
We might start right away with the design and development of the Party
Information Framework, based on 4.1. If the commercial project starts
anyway, Robert may or may not decide to cooperate with us, but we will
not focus on that possibility.

C) Join forces with the 5.0 team
We might decide to leave out the 4-string all together and start working
with the gimme5-team from the very beginning.

Personally, I am in favor of proposal B. TYPO3 5.0 is still too far away
and most probably the gimme5-team is not ready yet for cooperation with
the Party Information Framework. However, I would propose to keep in
close contact with the 5.0 development and to push the Party Information
Framework to become the standard for handling party-related data in 5.0
from the very beginning.

On a personal note I would like to point out again that I am willing to
take on a central position in this project, but I will _not_ go on if
this should turn out to be a one-man-show. For this I ask you not only
to cast your votes but also to state how and what you are willing and
able to contribute for this project.

Let's make 2007 the year of the Party Information Framework!

Dave
