[TYPO3-ect] MVC: Language object

Hi !
While reading the mailinglist (I did subscribe to the list, not news, to not miss any emails and read them soon after getting them, wow!), and while working on a project which is considered to be Multilanguage, I am having this idea...
They need a document, they can hand over to a translation service. What if we would have translation snipplets in the database in some defined format? Maybe it's just because I more like working with a database instead of working with various (xml?) files...
Any opinions about that?
