Looking very much foward to that. ;)

Will you take care of registered XCLASSES as well?

When I wanted to do this at one time I didn't really know how to handle
those 'foo_bar' extensions, since it it is hard to get the dirname of a
class 'tx_foobar_something'. You can't even use t3lib_extmgm::extPath,
unless you really test on all combinations of putting a '_' in the
extkey-part of the classname, which I didn't really want to do. ;(

Well y'll solve that I am sure. :->

Would it make sense to "flatten" to always flatten the extension-key, at
least for naming of directories? Could we handle such a big change?

Another issue:
IMHO we can't get it to work with all those
'pi1/class.tx_foobar_pi1.php' classfiles that are out in the wild. So
actually it would really require a new paradigm in class and dirnaming
in extensions.

I am very much in favor of such a change!
IMHO, great, please push this matter forward.

Greets,
Peter
