Hi guys,

the topic of global categoies is still open and waits for a solution. It is
time that someone picks it up and makes it a project. That shouldn't be to
difficult.

You more are less need to extract a nice category tree out of DAM or
elswhere, make it an separate extension and provide an API for other
extensions to connect.

Doing this one time will save you a lot of work in your next projects. Who
volunteers for this?

I think it should be done in 3 steps:

1.) Specification what is needed => wiki
2.) Acceptance by the R&D for the 4.x branch at least
3.) Implementation

Who volunteers to coordinate Step 1.)?
Who supports step 1.)?

If this is done 2. and 3. will follow.

Regards

Elmar
