I am not worried about additional possibilities to configure something.
But that should not result in additional work for the everyday cases.
This normally means to respect two principles:
1.) Set the defaults of the additional fields to values so as if that
configuration wouldn't be there at all.
2.) Hide the additional configuration somewhere out of sight, i.e. on
the last sheet of a flexform.

That is a good point. It should be possible to draw a border between
editors and admin tasks. An argument why different Pagebrowsers make
sense. Do you generally allow Editors to install plugins?
