Yes.

Not yet, as it only adds a level of complexity when fixing stuff in 6.2
(because change have to be tested and fixed in master first, then
backported to 6.2). Extra unneeded work.

If you want to work on new features already, feel free to do so, they
can even be reviewed in Gerrit and be already "ready to get merged"
("+2") as soon as we are ready with 6.2 and branch (in my opinion only
real value is to do that right after 6.2.0 release).

Yes, next patchlevel releases will most probably be out by the end of
this month.
