[TYPO3-core] Newbie Question

Hi, 

up to 15mins ago I never even heard of TYPO3 so was wondering if someone could give me an answer on something. I work for a design agency who mainly develop once off static sites i.e. HTML, CSS a bit of PHP in the form of includes and some javascript for some menus etc. We have been asked to do some design work in the form of some advertising for a company whose website operates on a TYPO3 platform. 

So my question is if we are just designing a static advertisement I am presuming that we could supply it within a div tag with some inline styles and any assets could go on our site with direct links to them.

Hope that makes sense and apologies if it is a stupid question but as with all different platforms etc you just do not know. To be clear the question is am I correct is the way I proposed the way it would be done or not and if not what way does it work with TYPO3 ?
