[TYPO3-core] Gridelements in the core?

This is the one of the purposes of the core IMO: provide basic 
functionality for extensions.

To me it's a more basic question. We currently have the problem of a few 
system extensions which are (almost) not maintained.

We could discuss (again) the concept of "A-class" (or some better name) 
extensions, because there seems to be a need for it. Previous 
discussions never resulted in any concrete results for this concept.
