For the meantime, I've sent a pull-request to Ernesto:
https://github.com/baschny/typo3-merged/pull/16

Another way to solve this, would be to mark a whole branch as "given up,
won't be backported". But I guess for now, marking the single issues is
the "cheaper" way.
