forget about what you have learned about svn. ;)

svn commit = accepted patch set(review process gerrit)
git commit = a patch that exists on your machine only (and might be 
pushed for review, and might be accepted or reworked)

git push = make your local git commit public and send RFC mail

some simplifications by intention...
