if the user see such technical error message in console, he will consult 
someone who knows. And the copy of the message helps to fix the bug 
quickly. If the error is hidden in response, only the advanced devs know 
where to find it. (It's not such crypted as windows does in thir blue 
screens ;))

yes, and then there is "no" result, a real timeout happened and can be 
reported. Imho timeout is readable in the request too.
