I'm sorry, but it breaks the blur for IM4 with safe_mode on linux.
Without safe_mode, everything works still fine with IM4.

But it even looks like with IM6/GM blur is broken with safe_mode (also  
without this patch).
Wasn't the problem here that escapeshellargs() is called twice? (once by  
TYPO3, once by PHP with safe_mode)?
I didn't succeed by disabling the call when safe_mode is enabled.. so have  
no clue.

I think we really need a task force, caring about this problem and IM at  
all.

Please convince Benni to deprecate IM5 (and maybe 4, too) and get rid of  
it ASAP (IMHO even with 4.5) and clean up the whole IM parts.
Really a pain in the ass, sorry.. I find no other words. I (and Jigal :))  
really had to motivate myself to review this patch again, but in my eyes  
it makes no sense with all these legacy issues and the big fear of  
breaking anything for anybody running don't-know-what configuration in  
don't-know-what envorionment :/

Because of the IM4 issue: -1, sorry...
