Hi,

your solution is good and works fine.
However i would like to change it to the following:

The switch in user setting is one of many settings where you don't know 
where it belongs too, so:

1) Make a new tab in user settings for "List View", provide global 
setting (initialisation) for
* show thumbs
* show extended view
* show clipboard
* show localisation
etc

Use this as initialisation for all list views.
