Georg was talking about the 'COMPARE DATABASE' link at the bottom of the
'Update wizard', you are referring to 'Database Analyzer' ;-)

There is a reason for this strange table construct. You can add your own
sql files in the typo3conf directory, for instance for your own
distribution, which will add an extra entry to this HTML table with the
options 'COMPARE' - 'IMPORT' - 'VIEW'. The links for a certain action
are aligned vertical then, like this:

Update required tables COMPARE
Dump static data               IMPORT
typo3conf/my_own.sql   COMPARE IMPORT VIEW

I've copied a sql file in typo3conf, which is the last one in the
example above.
