-1 because of bad usability, already discussed in the project-4-3 list. [1]

Your proposed solution forces users to think from right-to-left ( <-- ),
but they are used to left-to-right ( --> ).
I argue that users of the western world follow a left-to-right
convention, because they read from left to right. That means they first
click on pagetree before entering link options. Result: window is closed
immediately after choosing page without options entered.

Alternative solution:
Top-down like the one in RTE is better. Change browse_link in core
according to RTE.

Popup resizing is a good idea.
