Generally +1 by reading and testing with one note:

There is the possibility to rename the fileadmin dir with help of the
install tool constant "fileadminDir" (All Configuration), so the
preg_matches shouldn't match "fileadmin" but the variable.

Other than that, nice work, nice feature :)
