I do not use Windows for more than a year and I am unfamiliar with this new software :( I do not know how to rewrite it.

A newer solution to create links in Windows Vista is named "hardlinkshellext" and can be found at http://schinagl.priv.at/nt/hardlinkshellext/hardlinkshellext.html. Unlike "junction", it was not tested with TYPO3 and TYPO3 core team cannot provide any further information about this software.

Btw, junction was not M$ originally. Russinovich wrote it long before M$ bought him.
