Problem description from BT:
After upgrading to 4.3.0 I noticed that the Tools>Log extension had been 
changed.

The old dropdown for selecting timespan of the log was gone and replaced 
by two input boxes. The two boxes doesn't have a date selector which is bad.

The worst problem is that the data is sent on focus change. So when I 
write 2009-10-10 in the first input box and change focus to the next the 
page is reloaded and my input is gone.

In effect this render the plugin totally useless because I can only view 
the last day.

Solution:
And the description is right, the date entry is a pain. I used own mod 
setting for userdefined and real date entry with little parser and 
datepicker, see screenshot
