Hi Jonas,

i know i'm not Masi :-)

AFAIK workspaces is a difficult area because Kasper has the authority 
about all workspace changes, so core team doesn't have all liberty to 
change. So all changes to workspaces has to be reviewed and accepted by him.

This situation makes it difficult so imho the best chance is to move 
complete workspace habdling to a sysextension.

This is huge worke as workspace handling is spread in core at many 
places, but if this work is done it should be easy to implement 
alternative or new things as it doesn't touch any compatibility.

Maybe a project should be build with some guys knowing workspace 
handling good start coding this.
