[TYPO3-core] SVN maintenance work on Friday (23.05) - Today!

Good Morning everybody,

as we have announced some days ago, we will work on the SVN migration
from Sourceforge to svn.typo3.org today, Friday, 23. May 2008.

In case there are problems during the migration, we will revert to the
old repository; so please wait with using the new location until the
success of the migration has been announced here.

Summary
=======
- SVN on sourceforge is locked starting on 11:00 (GMT+1, Summer time)
- In the evening, a detailed quality check of the migration will be done
- We will notify you once you can start using the new SVN repository on
https://svn.typo3.org

Times
=====
All times are CEST (=GMT+2, Berlin)
We will start the migration at 12:00.

SVN will be locked starting at 11:00, so please do not commit anything
from 11:00 on.

What we do during the migration
===============================
1) User names are changed from your sf.net usernames to the typo3.org
usernames (in all old commits, too!)

2) We discovered that we branched TYPO3_4-2 too early, and that's why we
completely eradicate the branching again: starting from the branching
date, the trunk is discarded and the branch is changed to trunk again.

All this is done by Scripts from Andreas Wolf (residing in [1], in case
you are interested :-) ) who tested them thoroughly as well.

Working Copy Migration
======================
You will not be able to transfer your existing working copies, that's
why you need to make patches of all your pending changes in your old
working copies and transfer them to the new checkout.

The new SVN URL will be: https://svn.typo3.org/TYPO3v4/Core/trunk

You can use your normal typo3.org usernames and passwords for SVN Commits!
