Hi all,
thanx for your response. I have no problem with your point of view. You
can integrate it in 4.3 or not if you like. I can cope with all the
situations ;-)
There is no advice given in any documentation available not to crop
HTML-markup (neither in TSRef nor in the comments). It seems to be a
matter of knowing from experience. IMO stdWrap.crop should produce the
same FE-output whether it processes content with or without markup. This
was also expected by redacted user - who reported this as a bug - and
many other people I have talked to during T3BOARD08.
Adding a new feature like sdtWrap.crop.respectHTML=1 only makes sense if
there are users, that wants to cut tags right away. In this rare case
stdWrap.crop.byHookOrByCrook=1 is the better choice ;-) Otherwise it
increases the complexity of TYPO3 and can be a source of error if an
adminstrator is not aware of this feature. IMHO
sdtWrap.crop.respectHTML=1 turns a bug into an "configurable bug".
Greetings
Jochen
