Sounds reasonable. You want to make a patch for that? I think we'd 
benefit from this improvement a lot.

I know and agree completely. Sorry for the little communication from my 
side. AFAIK this part (the vars in the conf.php) was used before we had 
the config_default.php, so yes, this change is unnecessary (+ it's 
commented out), especially because the new installer will remove that 
directory completely anyway.
But /if/ somebody would uncomment these options again and uses these 
default settings we'd have option inconsistency.

Better: Feel free to erase the commented out options.
