Except for one thing I just noticed:
Because of the removed symlinks, user registration and editing of user
profiles with fe_adminLib didn't work anymore.

I just changed the includeLibs TypoScript to:
	plugin.feadmin.fe_users.includeLibs =
                             EXT:cms/tslib/media/scripts/fe_adminLib.inc
and now it works again.
