Well, you can add this to em/index.php before the call to main()
 ---- snip ----
var_dump(
  $SOBE->installExtension('tt_products','2.4.0',EM_INSTALL_VERSION_MAX)
);
exit();
 ---- snip ----

At least it shows something about the results... then go ahead and alter the 
parameters. This is what I did, and it works fine.
