[TYPO3-core] Charset-issue?

Hi,

I notice that my vi-editor tells me that index.php from rc1 is encoded
in latin1 while mostly(?) other files are encoded in utf-8.

I felt for quite some time there are still/again some encoding issues in
the sources but haven't found a way yet to automatically check on that.
Is there any chance to quickly get the encoding of each file?

for file in * ; do print_encoding $file; done //or alike

AFAIR typo3-src should fully be kept in utf-8. Or is this wrong?

It also might be a problem on my side since I am still struggling to
switch to a pure utf-8 (unicode?) environment thats why I have kept
silent so far.

Cheers,
Peter
