Yes, sonmething like this is on the agenda.

If you could code this, go ahead! Feel free to "ask me Löcher in den Bauch" 
about the (new) EM if you start with this. We do need a method that downloads 
and/or installs an extension in one call anyway, I'll gladly add this for 
you.
