This is what my kb_bettershortcut extension did.

But the request I got was to extend it in such a way that it can link also to files (which is not
possible with the current state - altough email links work if you know they are named "External URL"
pages). And also it is not possible to create pop-ups of different sizes for one menu ... which this
extension support.

Please notice that I did not REQUEST to remove "External URL" but just mentioned that it would be POSSIBLE because
then again something (linking to external URLS) can be accomplished by two ways (both with: Short Cut OR ExtURL pagetype)

If it will not be accepted to have this in the core I will have to update the extension.
