This is not completely fair, because most of the delays were planned 
ahead of time:
* TYPO3 4.5 : it would originally mean a release around December 25th 
and it was thought that many core devs would not be available
* TYPO3 4.6 : it the light of the previous release it seemed not quite 
handy to have releases around the Christmas season and during the 
summer. Thus the 6-months rhythm was changed into spring and fall.
* TYPO3 4.7 : the first spring release and with the strict management of 
Xavier indeed a release with (IIRC) every milestone exactly on time.
