Hi Stefan, Steffen and Steffen ;-)

really cool to have an general approach for rendering a tca select
field as tree in the backend now. Thank you for your work on this.

But I see it as disadvantage, that you are not able to see all (most)
selected records at a glance as this would be now with the actual tree
solutions in dam and tt_news (tree on the right side and the selected
records on the left).
Perhaps there could be an additional filter to show only selected
items in the tree. Selected items in an hidden subtree needs also to
be shown then.

PS: Another thing I found out is an missing read only view for the
config option readOnly. http://bugs.typo3.org/view.php?id=16288
