[TYPO3-mvc] Allways get default language BUT do an overlay

Hey

is it possible to set the querySettings in some way to allways get the records for the default language but do a overlay anyway?

My problem is, that i have an event model with 1:N relations to occasions, those should not be translated but the event should. So filtering by date is not possible in foreign languages. 

One possibility i can think of is to make the occasions table also translateable, so when translating an event record all ocasions get copied too. But - guess - i dont want that, it makes no sense. So i would like to have a possiblity of allways doing the request for the default language and when mapping do an overlay.

How can i achive this? Or what do you suggest for this scenario?
