[TYPO3-mvc] Where to reset flexform settings?

Hi,

this might be a bit off-topic. I'd like to know where a backend flexform 
usage stores its data. I use the flexform to select the action of a 
plugin and store some extra data. If I modify the flexform the data does 
not automatically gets reset, what already brought up some hard to find 
problems. So I'd like to know where the values could be reset. I need to 
have a situation like if my extension just has been installed and no 
settings have happened.
