Honestly, not as a complaint, but just because you asked about it: I 
think the community would benefit greatly from something like a document 
about this workshop. Something in the lines of Dmitry's book for pibase 
extensions.

There was already documentation about pibase available, but his book 
takes you on the journey of building a (simple) extension with a FE 
plugin, BE modules, using hooks, flexforms, language files, etc. It is 
something like a workshop-in-a-book explaining how to use the available 
features and API. It doesn't list everything that is available, but it 
shows you a "best practice".

Such a document together with an (generated (there is a lot of info in 
the PHPDoc headers, right?)) API documentation it would be a lot easier 
to start an extbased extension and it would probably improve the quality 
of the extensions too!
