well there are numerous ways to do this (inline,select,MM). Some of the 
setups work, some not.

I am still trying to solve the simple 
'select,foreign_field=whatever,mayitems=1' use case.

I already submitted a pacth some time ago, which I am currently 
reviewing as code base has changed w whole lot:

I am currently digging into it again as this would make my development a 
whole easier as currently I need whole pile of glue code to manually 
add/fix all relations in the controller.
