[TYPO3-shop] Does it make sense tu start implementing Commerce in a project with a deadline getting closer?

Hi there
I'd be glad to hear your opinion on the subject. I have to implement shop
functionality (the rest is almost done) in a site which has to start off
really soon . I'd really like to use Commerce on that, I guess it's more
elastic and extensible, also learning it instead of tt_product seems a
sound investment.
But how hard will be implementing it with the current state of Commerce
documentation? Some time ago somebody wrote here, that it would be (then)
nearly impossible without full manual.
So, what do you think? A bit of experimenting sounds fine to me and I'd
like to take a ride with Commerce, but won't it end as a complete disaster?
thanks for any opinions
AC
