[TYPO3-shop] Software-Downloads with tt_products ?

Franz-
Would it be a better idea to wait until Commerce comes out instead of 
investing the effort into tt_products?
I'm sort of new to Typo, so any assistance is much appreciated, especially 
guidance in the planning phases.
