[TYPO3-ttnews] deprecated code in 3.0.1

In generell: is there a future for tt_news? Like a Forge fork or a new 
developer ora fix integration into Typo3 or a
substituting extension based on the new ExtBase/Fluid?

Or will it just grow old and finally die...???

What are your thoughts / wihses / ideas ...?
