Hey,

I'm really sorry that I didn't continue the re-referencing dialog with 
you. The reason (as mostly) was a lack of free time for it :(

But I'm happy to see that you didn't stop thinking about it and that you 
keep bringing up suggestions and possible solutions - that's really 
motivating for me.

So even if I didn't get why renaming the field would help to solve the 
other issue, I'm open to get that feature integrated as it seems to 
resolve an existing issue. So feel free to send the patch and I will 
take some time to test and review it.
