[TYPO3-templavoila] Static DS conversion broken in 4.5.6?

I was just setting up a news site and noticed static DS doesn't seem to
work any more.

I go into the configuration of the extension in extension manager and
select the Static DS category.
Then I check the staticDS.enable flag and click Update.
I check the one page template I have created and click update again.
Now it tells me the .xml has been written (which it has), but it doesn't
complete the process.
staticDS.enable keeps getting unchecked and the conversion process is
stuck.
