Well, say you have three content areas (i.e. DS fields that contain
content elements). On one TO, all three areas are mapped. In another TO,
only 2. With this latter TO you still see the third content area, which
is confusing for editors, because they can place content elements there
that don't appear in the FE.
This means that you have to do 2 DS. But this is a real pain, since the
more DS you have, the more maintenance work it means, especially if all
fields are duplicates except for that 3rd content area mentioned in my
example above.
This is what I call an unmapped area and I would like to be able to hide
them. This has been bugging me for a long time and I have been using
me_templavoilayout2 (or something similar) which does what the beLayout
construct does but for TOs and not for DSs, which I found more clever.
