[TYPO3-Solr] Multiple Indexes single server instance

Hi

The shell script included with the community ext allows you to set up a 
tomcat/solr instance for one site. This is cool, and works well. But 
what i need now is a centralized tomcat/solr server, where multiple web 
sites can store their indexes. It seems a bit wasteful of resources to 
install a separate instance for each web site, and have tomcat running 
on a different port (and living in a separate folder) for each. Surely 
there is a way to have a central system with sub folders for each site 
using it?  However, i am not that au fait with java, so any advice 
would be appreciated.
