Shared hosting CAN offer those features.
I mean, some years back it was impossible to get 16MB RAM for PHP 
execution - now it is.
Don't underestimate the impact TYPO3 has, and thus what kind of power we 
have to change the world (of ISPs).

It's like back in the days, when TYPO3 lead, others followed.

So if we introduce SPROC within MySQL the ISPs have to grant those 
privileges to the users, unless the ISP wants to fall behind.

Question is, how much speed we can really get out of views and SPROC 
within TYPO3.

You know me, I'm all "forget the little ISPs", but if our speed boost 
isn't significant, I wouldn't make it mandatory.

I'm not too familiar with the whole branching thing, but could we do 
some sort of "optimized core" branch where we can test most of that stuff?

Because it might turn out our ideas are great, but don't work out :)
