Yes (if the decision is made for option 1) - and this is something closely
related to the concept of the GPL.
Somebody is paying another one to produce an extension and this might be
publicly available afterwards.
And I think you didn't get the point here:
It's _not_ about giving individuals the possibilty to make more money with
TYPO3 (this is just a side effect) - it's about lifting the _whole product_
on a higher level of professionalism. And this will lead to a higher income
for any professional using it. So i don't see why it should be so bad for
you.
If you want to be the only one who will benefit from a marketing concept you
might want to create one on your own.
But even in this case you might get a benefit from a set of basic marketing
rules created on such a meeting.

Could it be that you have been reading over my "option 2"?
I am not the one to decide here - I just offered two options and a possible
location. Nothing more nothing less.
And I just expressed my personal point of view.
If there is made a decision to make it available for association members
only, fine for me.
But I don't think this will make much sense, since people and companies that
are no assocation members (and probably never will be) will still spoil the
party since they won't stick to the rules and do their own marketing,
arguing that they didn't know about any rules.
A marketing concept IMHO only makes sense if it is the base for all
marketing activities regardless of any membership.
