As I started it, I want to make my point more clearly from the last statement.
IMHO "the" Typo3 comparisons are too much understatement. I compared the Typo3
to a "pay product", which shouts out much more. They say: We *run under each
system that offers PHP and MySQL*, not having a clue about NetBSD, FreeBSD,
whatever else exotic OS they never heard of.
Typo3 says: We run Windows and Linux. Correct statement, because this is well
tested, supported, etc. pp. But in fact (IMHO) it runs under the same conditions
as the comparison product.

If you just run by those statements than Typo3 looses, because it is not
"shining" enough. It looks as if the Typo3 "drinking glass" is "half empty",
and all other glasses are "filled half", ... :-) (I hope you get what I try to say.

As I am "brand new" to Typo3 I cannot judge if this is "wanted", or "just happened
by accident". I personally think it should be changed and am willing to help
out, if "someone who knows" tells me where to start.

I would not do it this way, because than "ill behaving" extensions could harm
Typo3 as well.

You could press release Typo3 releases as they com, *and* press release each
new Typo3 extension.

> How to handle this perception ?
Make press releases. Question is: Who? What is "official"? What is "wanted" by
the community?, ...

> Produce news once a great features-rich extension see the light ?
Why not.

> Who will judge ?
> How to not offend someone who think has a great extension and no ones care ?
The press prints what the press wants to print. They judge, noone else.
