[Typo3-marketing] Consultancy

Ola everyone,

About the consultancy;
At first I think that to be a good Typo3 consultant, your basic qualification should be to be a good consultant; somebody who can pick-up a big project, look at it with a helicopter vieuw, understands what is needed (in Typo3 terms) to realise it, makes a functional design, a detailed planning, a time frame for realisation and forms a team of specialist to realise it. Ofcourse most of this qualifications might be impersonated into one person but will be done by a team of people within a company.
The fact if you can make your own extentions doesn't matter at all in my humble opinion. Because companies will not trust their critical project into your hands because your such a good programmer. The must have the feeling that you are the company that can handle their project and knows what is needed to meet their expectations. 
Me for myself for example cannot programm a darn thing, but I know what can be done and let other people ( I need them) programm it, while they are not suited for managing a project and need me to get work.
So not your programming skills are what matter for consultancy -directly, but I agree that you need to comprehend Typo3 very good to make good judgements about what is needed and what should be programmed.

But what you could do to 'force' companies like ours or Daniels' to contribute to the list of extentions, is demanding at least one or two extentions per year. Personnaly I would not have a problem with it at all. The only complication is, when is something our contribution? For example, at the moment phpBB is being re-programmed as a Typo3 extention. Netcreators is one of the two companies paying for it and it will be available for everybody. The same with the LDAP script, we are the one sponsoring it. Now can these be seen as our contributions? I think so :-)
